Algebra I
Today we discussed
We expanded our discussion of open sentences to include solving equation and inequalities involving absolute value. REMEMBER: you have two cases to solve with absolute value: the positive case and the negative case. Absolute value open sentences really involve two separate problems.

Pre-Algebra
Today we discussedWe worked on defining bases, exponents and powers as well as what prime and composite numbers are. We completed a Sieve of Eratosthenes (click here for more information) to determine all the prime numbers between 1 and 100. You can download a 1-100 chart here if you want to try the exercise again, or share with your parents. THINK: are the numbers 0 and 1 prime or composite? How do you know? We also then discussed prime factorization of monomials.
