Algebra I

Today we discussed
Today we moved on to dividing rational expressions.  Recall that division of fractions involves multiplying by the reciprocal of the divisor.

The same is true for rational expressions.  If you are dividing rational expression, multiply the dividend by the inverse of the divisor.  Again, if there are variables in the denominator of the resulting expressions, there will be some excluded values.

Our discussion of rational numbers moved on to multiplying decimal numbers.  When multiplying decimals, recall the following steps:
  1. IGNORE the decimals in the beginning.
  2. Set up the problem like you would any other multiplication problem.
  3. Perform the multiplication.  Make sure you use place holders when necessary.
  4. Count the decimal places in all of you factors.
  5. Place the decimal in your product.
